Bug Fixing and New Feature Development for an Online Store
Project description
Problem: Following Bulgaria's entry into the Eurozone, a requirement emerged to display prices not only in the national currency but also in Euros. The client had an online store running on a rather old version of Joomla. Prices were displayed only in the local currency — on product cards, in the catalog, and in the shopping cart.
Diagnosis: The Joomla version was outdated, and some plugins were no longer supported and ceased to function after updates. Using standard solutions proved impossible.
Solution:
-
A second currency — Euro — was added.
-
The conversion rate was configured.
-
Automatic addition and currency conversion into additional interface blocks (product cards, catalog, shopping cart) were implemented using JavaScript.
Result: The online store now correctly displays prices in both the national currency and in Euros. The conversion is performed automatically, which complies with new legislative requirements and ensures convenience for customers.
